Meghan Markle wears Princess Diana’s butterfly earrings from 1986 while visiting Colombia with Harry

Meghan Markle wore the same butterfly earrings Friday that her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, wore in 1986.

The “Suits” alum rocked the gold stud earrings during the second day of her four-day-long visit to Colombia with her husband, Diana and King Charles III’s son, Prince Harry.

Diana and Charles also shared Harry’s older brother, Prince William.

Markle, 42, wore the sentimental jewelry while visiting Colegio La Giralda school in the Santa Fe neighborhood of Bogotá, where she spoke Spanish to a kindergarten class, toured the campus and participated in an art session.

Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 at 36 years old, wore the butterfly earrings during a trip to Canada with her then-husband Charles in May 1986 when Prince Harry was a toddler.

The actress’ choice to wear the earrings to visit a school was very fitting, as Diana worked as a kindergarten teacher in London before becoming royalty.

Markle sported the earrings with a simple look consisting of a white button-down blouse tucked into skinny black trousers and a beige coat and matching flats.

She pulled her hair back into a bun, letting the earrings sparkle for all to see.

Markle seems to have an affinity for the dainty earrings, as she has been spotted wearing them twice before.

She debuted the family heirloom in Australia in October 2018, shortly after she and Harry announced they were expecting their first child.

The American Riviera Orchard creator has other pieces from Diana’s jewelry collection in her possession, including a cross necklace Diana was never photographed wearing.

She also owns Diana’s aquamarine ring she wore while traveling to her wedding reception and to Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala in December 2022 and a tennis bracelet she rocked during her and Harry’s 2021 sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.
