Luke Hemsworth joked that he taught movie legend Morgan Freeman “everything he knows” about acting.
Hemsworth stars alongside Freeman in the new action thriller “Gunner,” and he told Page Six exclusively that he took full advantage of working with the “Shawshank Redemption” star.
Hemsworth, 43, confessed that the opportunity to star opposite the Oscar winner “is probably the number one reason why I did that film, just to sit next to that man.”
Since they were “stuck in a car” together throughout most of the film, which was released on Amazon’s Prime Video Friday, the “Land of Bad” star peppered Freeman with dozens of questions.
“I can’t help but be a fanboy of his,” he told us. “I wanted to ask him about everyone he’s ever worked with,” including Jim Carrey, who Hemsworth said he “loves.”
Hemsworth also asked Freeman who his favorite director was only to have the 87-year-old actor tease him with his response.
“Clint Eastwood,” he answered, “because he doesn’t have so many questions!”
In “Gunner,” Hemsworth plays a man on a mission to save his sons from a dangerous drug cartel. The “Death of Me” star, who shares three daughters with wife Samantha, told Page Six that he’d go all out for his kids, but is more laid back in his day-to-day life.
“I’m pretty free with their upbringing,” he explained. “They get a long rein. They’re able to go out into the world to regulate themselves pretty well.”
“My eldest daughter just turned 16 and you know everything that goes along with that is happening at the moment, and it’s both terrifying and a joy to watch.”
And Hemsworth, who moved back to Australia in 2020 and is Chris and Liam’s eldest brother, sounded just as low-key when he talked about his relationship with brothers.
“We’re all d–kheads when we get together,” he quipped.
