Commissioner Kelly is back!
Kelly Bensimon has moved back into downtown Manhattan’s famed Police Building — where she has been known as its de facto commissioner — as the reality star-turned-real estate whiz looks to move on.
The one-time “Real Housewives of New York City” star rented out her apartment in the storied building last summer for a cool $28,500 when she got engaged to financier Scott Litner.
After calling off the wedding weeks ago at the 11th hour, she’s back at her old address to start a new chapter, Page Six has learned.
Her former abode — a 3,600 square foot, three-bedroom and three-bathroom unit — is still rented, so she’s taken up residence in another unit, she exclusively confirmed to Page Six.
Kelly quipped, “I’m excited about my new chapter.”
We’d previously reported that days before beautiful Bensimon, 56, was to tie the knot, it became “clear” to her it wouldn’t work when Litner refused to sign their pre-nup.
“He thought that I would enter this union without legal protections in place, that I would leave everything to faith,” the Bravo alum told Entertainment Tonight. “But I’ve worked really, really hard as a single mother and have always made smart decisions for myself and my family, and that will continue.”
Bensimon was previously married to fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon for 10 years, and has two grown daughters. She got engaged to Litner last summer after a year of dating.
She says there’s no animosity between the pair — and they’ve parted ways amicably.
Happily back at her former address, not only is Bensimon a longtime resident of the Police Building, she’s also known as the “unofficial commissioner” at 240 Centre St., which was completed in 1909 and served as the headquarters of the NYPD until 1973.
A Douglas Elliman real estate whiz who’s licensed in three states, Bensimon has been a premier broker at the building as well as a resident.
She first moved into the historic building during her modeling days when her neighbors included fellow fashion world favorites like Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and makeup guru Francois Nars, plus style icon Calvin Klein.
Bensimon recently closed a Hamptons sale for $11 million, and has a currently has a Malibu, Calif., listing for $13.4 million among other luxury offerings.
Unlike some reality stars who sell properties as a side hustle, Bensimon says, “I’ve had a love story with real estate…. I really care about finding people homes.”
She says that before she was a broker, “I built homes before. I bought and sold and rented.”
She said of calling off her wedding, “It was the right thing for me, the right decision for me and my family.”
Today, “I want to move forward and create an amazing life.”
