Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose parties into early hours, rocks out to Steely Dan at the Mulberry
Axl Rose was ready to hit the scene on Friday night, 24 hours after joining Billy Joel onstage at his final Madison Square Garden show.
The Guns N’ Roses frontman made his way back to the Mulberry — which hosted an after party for him last year — where he sang along when the DJ played Steely Dan’s “Dirty Work.”
We’re told he arrived to the Downtown celeb haunt after having dinner a few blocks north at BondST.
Rose seemed to vaguely remember having an afterparty at the bar, and was trying to piece it all together, we hear. A spy overheard him conversing with security, who said, “Welcome back!” Rose said: “I was here before!”
The bar’s exclusive Whisper Room, which Rose mistakenly referred to as “the egg room,” fully jogged his memory. He lit up once he saw the private room — which has hosted stars such as Janet Jackson, Beck, Taylor Swift, Jason Momoa, and Rose — and said, “It was here!” the source recalled.
Rose last partied at the Nolita hot spot back in August of 2023, when the bar was still in its infancy, and hosted the late night afterparty after Guns N’ Roses performed a three-hour show at Metlife Stadium. He spent the minimum amount of time in the secluded “whisper room” during that visit because he wanted to party with the crowd.
He danced to DJ David Katz spinning “November Rain” and, “he was telling stories about back in the day and what he is up to now,” a partygoer told us at the time.
The bar even gifted him his own bottle of Don Julio 1942 with his name engraved on it. Unfortunately, mother nature interrupted that party. The August rain flooded the basement bar, bringing an end to Rose’s rager.
Rose had quite the redo this time around. We hear he rocked out at the joint until well after the bar’s usual closing hour.
