‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ star Tammy Slaton declares she’s now ‘like a lesbian’ after husband’s death
Tammy Slaton revealed she’s now a lesbian following the death of her husband.
The “1000-Lb. Sisters” star — who declared she was pansexual three years ago — gave her TikTok followers an update on her sexuality Tuesday after one asked if she was transgender.
“I’m not trans, I’m just a supporter of everybody,” she said in response to why she shared a transgender flag emoji on her platform.
“I was pansexual, but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed,” the TLC star added, referring to her late partner, Caleb Willingham, who died last year.
“So, I’m like a lesbian.”
Slaton further said she believes “love is love” and everyone “deserves love” no matter what their sexual preferences may be.
“Again, I was just showing support. I’m not a hater,” she added. “I’m just a lover.”

Slaton, 37, came out as pansexual during an episode of “1000-Lb. Sisters” in 2021.
“I always thought I was bisexual, and then I started talking to one of my friends and she told me she was pansexual, and I asked her kind of what it meant,” she said at the time, per E! News.
“It means you love everybody, not just the same sex. And I was like, ‘Well, I guess I am too,’ because I wouldn’t mind being with someone who’s transgender, or whatever,” the reality star explained.
More than a year later, Slaton met her late husband, Willingham, while at the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Ohio in 2022.
The couple hit it off and were engaged by October that year. Within a month they got hitched at the rehab center where they fell in love.
Just a few months later, their marriage hit a rough patch as Slaton was reportedly ready to file for divorce from Willingham in May 2023 because he wasn’t following a diet and “gained 30 lbs.”
Meanwhile, the TLC star lost over 300 pounds and needed “someone who can be there for her” unlike her husband whose health was declining, a source told the US Sun at the time.
“She would have to take care of him once he’s out of rehab, and that is her taking on the care of a whole other person when she can barely take care of herself, so the relationship is pointless,” the insider added.
Willingham then passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 40, leaving Slaton “devastated.”
She was able to move on just a few months later and reportedly created a Facebook dating profile in October 2023, per the US Sun.
Her profile claimed she was looking for a “long-term relationship.”
