Way to purse-evere!
It appears Simone Biles celebrated becoming the most decorated gymnast in history by buying herself a new Hermès handbag.
The 11-time Olympic medalist shared snapshots of her pricey shopping spree to her Instagram Story on Friday after competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Biles, 27, posted an image from inside a Hermès store in Paris where a shelf was stacked with Birkin bags and Kelly purses in different neutral shades, sizes and leathers including ostrich and alligator skin, which can retail for up to six figures, depending on size.
In a second photo, the record-breaking athlete shared a sneak peek inside the private back room of Hermès, where she collected her new purchase contained inside the French fashion house’s iconic orange box.
Biles didn’t show her fans the actual bag she acquired, though she captioned the photo with heart-eyed and crying-faced emojis, expressing to Instagram followers how excited she was for her new accessory.
Earlier in the day, Biles posted a photo via Instagram Story in which she flaunted her intricate, sleek updo.
Biles showed off her straightened coiffure just weeks after she bashed her haters for criticizing her loose hairstyle after competing in the artistic gymnastics women’s qualification event.
“don’t come for me about my hair. IT WAS DONE but bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,0000 degrees,” she wrote in a video of herself using a hand-held fan on a bus on July 28.
She continued, “gonna hold your hand when I say this 💋 next time you wanna comment on a black girls hair. JUST DON’T.”
And that wasn’t the only hairy situation Biles found herself in amid the Olympic games. She also shut down trolls for criticizing her husband, Jonathan Owens, for wearing one of her Olympic gold medals after she led Team USA to a gold medal in the team competition.
“Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures. So don’t ever make assumptions,” she commented under a TikToker video critiquing the Chicago Bears player. “Like y’all are so f—ing miserable. Leave us alone.”
Biles secured three gold medals after competing in this year’s women’s artistic individual all-around, women’s artistic team all-around, and women’s vault. She also earned one bronze medal for her women’s floor routine.
She also won five medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics and two medals in the 2020 Tokyo games — leading her to tie with the late Czechoslovakia gymnast Věra Čáslavská with a total of 11 Olympic medals. The highest-winning Olympic gymnast is the Soviet Union’s Larisa Latynina, who won 18 medals.
However, Biles is the most decorated gymnast of all time thanks to her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals.
