Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids: All about Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids are royally cute!

The couple became parents in May 2019, just under a year after tying the knot in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in England.

Their son, Prince Archie, spent his first year of life in London — plus a royal trip to South Africa — before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the United Kingdom for Canada and, eventually, the United States.

The duo settled in Montecito, Calif., in the summer of 2020. By the time their daughter, Princess Lilibet, was born in June 2021, Harry and Markle had resigned from all of their royal duties.

Between Archie and Lilibet’s arrivals, the “Suits” alum suffered a miscarriage, which she detailed in an emotional New York Times essay.

“Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few,” she wrote in November 2020.

Buckingham Palace announced Markle’s pregnancy in October 2018, with the former actress later revealing that she and Harry began journaling to their future baby right away.

“It was just, ‘Dear baby, we’re so excited to meet you one day,'” she recalled in Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” docuseries. “‘Here’s an announcement that went out about you today.'”

Shortly after Archie arrived the following year at the private Portland Hospital in London, Harry called childbirth the “most amazing experience” while speaking to the press.

He and Markle debuted the infant days later, with the “Archetypes” podcast host gushing over her “dream” son’s “sweet” and “calm” temperament.

He is “all over the place,” keeping his parents “busy.”

Archie was christened in July 2019. His godparents are reportedly Harry’s former nanny Tiggy Pettifer and family friends Charlie van Straubenzee and Mark Dyer.

The new parents shared updates on their little one’s milestones during the COVID-19 pandemic, from his first steps to his first teeth, and they have continued documenting the red-headed toddler‘s personality over the years.

“He is just so busy, he is all over the place,” Markle told the UK’s Evening Standard in September 2020. “He keeps us on our toes.”

An “overjoyed” Harry and Markle confirmed in February 2021 that baby No. 2 was on the way, sharing a sweet bump snap.

When the newborn arrived four months later at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, the pair named her Lilibet after Queen Elizabeth II‘s childhood nickname.

Lilibet met her namesake during the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, three months before the Queen died at age 96.

Lilibet, who goes by Lili, was christened in March 2023. Her godfather is Tyler Perry, whose mansion Harry and Markle stayed in when they first moved stateside.

While Harry believes Archie looks like his wife, he called Lilibet the spitting image of his late mother, Princess Diana, in a December 2022 docuseries episode.

“She’s very Spencer-like,” the former military pilot said. “She’s got the same blue eyes … golden-reddish hair.”

He went on to say that Lilibet is “obsessed” with her big brother, joking that Archie gets “irritated” when she does not give him space.
