Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk confirm engagement
After months of speculation, Gwyneth Paltrow and her longtime boyfriend, Brad Falchuk, have finally confirmed their engagement.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this junction in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship,” Paltrow, 45, and Falchuk, 46, said in a joint statement in the latest issue of GOOP Magazine, according to “Good Morning America.”
In a clip from their cover shoot, Falchuk explained that he and Paltrow love food but often bicker about where to dine.
Elsewhere in the interview, Paltrow adds why she’s up for marriage again. “Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be,” she said. “I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy.”
This time around, her relationship with Falchuk is a bit different previous ones. “I feel like I’m in an adult relationship that is sometimes very uncomfortable—because he sort of demands a certain level of intimacy and communication that I haven’t been held to before,” Paltrow explained. “What came up in the first couple of years of our relationship was how incapable I was in this realm—how I feared intimacy and communication.”
The couple’s engagement news comes as no shock, since Paltrow brought Falchuk into the family fold months ago.
She had a brunch with both Falchuk and ex-husband Chris Martin back in November. She made sure to flaunt the new arrangement on social media.
“Sunday brunch #modernfamily,” she captioned the snap of both Martin and Falchuk giving toothy grins.
The magazine goes on sale January 9.
