Gwyneth Paltrow’s kids: Meet the Goop founder’s 2 children and 2 stepchildren
Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t just have her hands full with Goop — she’s also a proud mother and stepmother.
The actress became a parent in 2004 when she and then-husband Chris Martin welcomed daughter Apple. The duo’s son, Moses, was born in 2006.
Paltrow cut back on her career to take care of her and the Coldplay frontman’s kids, although she did not officially announce her “semi-retirement” from the entertainment business until 2020.
By that point, the Oscar winner was busy with her wellness brand — and had split from Martin, which she referred to as “conscious uncoupling.”
The exes maintained a cordial co-parenting dynamic after Paltrow filed for divorce in 2015. Their divorce was finalized the following year.
Paltrow gave some insight into their split in a January 2023 “Goop” podcast episode, joking that having young children can “ruin” a marriage.
“It’s hard on a relationship,” she explained. “I’ve looked back now on, like, the data set. … It’s really hard.”

Apple Blythe Alison Martin
Paltrow gave birth to a baby girl named Apple in May 2004.
Martin “came up with the” moniker and she “fell in love with it,” the “Shakespeare in Love” star told her Instagram followers in April 2022.
“I thought it was original and cool,” Paltrow added. “I can’t imagine her being called anything else.”
Apple is a college student at a New York City school, with Paltrow often gushing over the teenager via Instagram.
“You are everything I could have dreamed of and so much more,” she wrote on Apple’s 18th birthday in May 2022. “I could not be more proud of the woman you are.
“I was born the day you were born,” she concluded. “I love you.”
Moses Bruce Paltrow Martin
Apple became a big sister in April 2006 when Moses arrived.
After giving birth to baby No. 2, Paltrow suffered from postpartum depression. She explained to podcast listeners in September 2018 that she “broke out” of the baby blues without medication.
“I went to therapy and I started exercising again,” the Golden Globe winner said at the time. “I stopped drinking alcohol and I just gave myself a period of regeneration and I slept more.”
Paltrow has shared bits of her son’s personality over the years, including his interests in skateboarding and Fortnite.
The former has sent the teen to the emergency room multiple times, with Paltrow calling him “a little shredder” in an April 2021 social media tribute.
Isabella Falchuk and Brody Falchuk
When Paltrow remarried in September 2018, she became the stepmother to two children.
The Emmy winner’s husband, Brad Falchuk, is the father of daughter Isabella and son Brody with his ex-wife, Suzanne Bukinik.
While Paltrow went into the relationship with “trepidation,” she later gave her stepkids her “full self as a parent with all the love and all the acceptance and all the boundaries.”
