Cooking time for a “conscious uncoupling”: 28 months.
More than two years after they coined the phrase while announcing their breakup, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s divorce is final, reports People.
The former couple are said to have reached a settlement in May, but the judgment wasn’t entered into a Los Angeles courthouse until this Thursday. According to the court documents, Paltrow, 43, and Martin, 39, have reached a written agreement regarding property and child support, and both parties have agreed to never seek spousal support.
The couple announced their intention to divorce in March 2014, after nearly 11 years of marriage. In a now infamous dual statement posted to Paltrow’s website GOOP, the couple wrote:
We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.
And, as far as the public is concerned, the couple have stuck to their word. They’ve vacationed together, and just last month Paltrow was on hand to watch her ex perform at Cannes Lions.
Reps for Paltrow and Martin did not reply to a request for comment.
